GEORGE C. ONUORAH is co-founder and publisher of Our World Media Magazine and author of “The Political Diary of A Rising Son” his book about African and American politics. He also wear another hat as the director of media at When In Need (WIN) Foundation. His unflinching passion is service to community and humanity, and he embraces a vision of helping children and families in need everywhere in the world. Lifting others up comes from his humble beginnings as an altar boy in a strict Roman Catholic family and the self-discipline of belonging to the Boy Scouts in Nigeria. Mr. Onuorah holds a BA in Political Science (1986) from York College of The City University of New York and an associate degree in Mass Communication. With meticulous academic and philanthropic work was rewarded with a Doctorate of Philosophy Humane Letters (honoris causa) from CICA International University and Seminary October 29, 2016. Other recognitions and awards included “Star of Queens” by Queens Courier newspaper, “King of Queens” from Star Network and Schneps Communications. Proclamations from United States Congress, certificates from New York City Council, New York State senate and Assembly and Office of the President Borough of Queens. Community Advocate Award from the Corona Lions Club at their 42nd Annual Dinner Dance. George has been active in his home community in Queens, where he served as Liaison for a New York City Councilmember, chairperson of the Consumer Affairs Committee and Vice President on the Neighborhood Advisory Board. He has two daughters: one, Nneka, is a director and television producer and the other, Nakia, is a freshmen in college.
